I haven't received any new MEi articles! What happened?

After roughly 3 months on the internship, you'll have read all of the MEi articles available on the system*. Congratulations! Now's the time to start focusing on other areas of the internship more!

Put more of your focus and effort into the internship tasks now! Aim to complete all of your onboarding stage tasks and get yourself to the core team stage so you can apply to join!

If accepted into the core team, you'll be able to grow your confidence even further. The tasks in the core team don't have a pre-determined solution but rather you and/or the team will need to find and create solutions. This can result in more teamwork, soft-skill opportunities, technically challenging tasks (when they come up and you have sufficient skill to be assigned the task by the team) and more! For those with stronger technical skills, you may be given intermediate level tasks when they are available to challenge and stretch yourself.

To continue growing your skills and experience outside of the tasks, you should put more of your focus into the following areas:
  • Tech Chit Chat sessions to learn more about technical skills and technology
  • Employability and English at Work to learn about CV/Resume writing, emails, interviews and other soft-skill related tips and advice
  • Team-V to practise your public speaking and soft-skills
  • Technical Perspective Session (invite only) where you can gain insights into technical tests during interviews - once you've reached a higher IC level (4+) you can contact Justin Pham to get invited
  • Life Skills to work on your mindset and handle challenges in life more easily
  • QuestionHub to learn through community wisdom, you can find more problems and more solutions than you could by yourself - remember facing problems is the true source of experience!
  • SkillSwap to improve your understanding by teaching others! Best way to learn is to teach! Also practise your ability to promote yourself and to communicate effectively with others!
You are getting closer and closer to being highly employable, keep up the good work, stay committed!

* Please note from time to time new articles will be added and you should receive a notification in those cases.
